Contacts and outreach: talk to the people who hire, one by one

How to find recruiters and hiring managers on G3 Apply, build lists, approve every draft and send it yourself by email and on LinkedIn, with your resume attached.

An application on a company's site joins a queue with many others. A short, well-written message to the recruiter or to the person who will lead the team can make your name stick. The hard parts are finding the right person, writing something that doesn't read like a template and remembering to follow up. The contacts and outreach tools in G3 Apply handle that part, and sending stays with you.

Find the people: Contacts

In Contacts, you search by the company's website, for example the domain in the address of its career page. G3 Apply shows recruiters and managers at that company.

To see someone's email and LinkedIn, you reveal the contact using credits from your balance. The screen shows how much will be used before you confirm, and revealing the same person again doesn't charge you twice. Search results stay valid for 7 days, and searching again doesn't use credits. The people you want to keep go to the Saved tab.

Build lists: Outreach › Lists

In Outreach, the Lists tab brings together the right people at the companies that matter to you. A good place to start is the companies you've already applied to, because that's where a recruiter can help most. You can also create a list by importing LinkedIn profiles you already have.

Pick the sequence

Each person on a list goes into a sequence, which sets the steps and the channel for each one:

  • Application + recruiter: for people at the company you applied to. An email with your resume, a follow-up and LinkedIn.
  • Networking without a job: to meet people without a specific job. A LinkedIn invite and a message after they accept.

Approve every draft

When a step comes due, G3 Apply writes the draft and it shows up in Drafts to approve. You read it, edit whatever you want and approve it. Nothing goes to anyone without going through you.

The approved message joins the Today queue. That's where you send it: the email opens already filled in for you to send from your own account, and with the Chrome extension the draft in Gmail or Outlook already has your resume attached. Without the extension, the screen asks whether you attached your resume before you mark it as sent. On LinkedIn, you copy the approved text and paste it into the conversation.

Follow the replies

G3 Apply never reads your email or your LinkedIn. When someone accepts the invite or replies, you mark it on the sequence. When there's a reply, the sequence stops and the company leaves the queue for 30 days, so you don't keep pushing someone who has already talked to you.

To stop earlier, use Stop on that person's sequence: the open drafts and tasks for them are canceled.

Good habits

  • Write little and be specific: why this company and why you.
  • Mention the job when there is one, and attach your resume only when it makes sense.
  • Respect people who didn't reply: one follow-up is enough.

No message can guarantee a reply. What these tools do is take away the work of finding people, writing the first draft and remembering the next steps, so you can spend your energy on what matters: good messages to the right people.
